Snow days!

Of course, here's Alannah, watching the activity in the snow out the window from a safe (and warmer) distance inside the house. I did take her out briefly and put her hand in the snow. She didn't know whether to laugh, cry, gasp, smile, or suck the snow from her hand, so she did a little of all of that and called it good.

Snow days!

So one day we woke up and much to my dismay and delight, there was 4 inches of snow on the ground. Delight because I love snow and dismay, because it meant that I was going to be late to work. It continued to snow throughout the day and we ended up with about 6-8inches on the ground. Driving to work was a harrowing experience taking over an hour. It usually takes about 15-20minutes. After I picked up the girls, we made the obligatory snowman! Emberlea loved that and insisted on it actually being a snow "girl". We threw snowballs at eachother and the fence. Then it got cold and dark, so we went inside and had hot cocoa with dinner.

Sister love

Sisters love eachother very much!

Goofy girls

Emberlea is enjoying being a big sister for sure. And I think Alannah enjoys her too, whether she's conscious of it or not. The two of them laugh together. Emberlea gets Alannah giggling so much, she can hardly contain herself! It's funny and cute to watch. They play off eachother, even at this age.

Alannah is charming us with her smiles and making us laugh with her open-mouthed facial expressions lately.

Just hangin' out!

Emberlea loved the tiny, chocolate-cherry cheesecakes that she got to spoon into the muffin cups.

Here's where Emberlea got to help with Christmas cookies. After mama measured flour, eggs, butter, sugar, and the other ingredients, Emberlea dumped it in the bowl. She got to stir up the batter, lick the spoon, and taste it with her finger. (This was her favorite part!)
