Just another picture of how cute Alannah is!

So our church got this new organ. We went to hear it played for the first time one evening by a famous organist. It was absolutely amazing! If you ever thought organ music was boring or churchy or whatever, this guy will change your mind. He definitely show-cased the instrument the way it's supposed to be played. If you get the chance to hear live organ music, don't pass it up, give yourself a treat and go hear it!

Alannah's first tub bath...with big sister helping! She loved her bath, and she smiled through most of it. It was very important to Emberlea to be able to help with the bath. She wants to feel included in baby care. Again, she likes to be a little mommy with Alannah. It's pretty cute most of the time, but it can be too much. We let her help when she can, and if it really is helpful!

The farm is fun with lots of fresh vegetables to buy, goats and sheep to feed, and horse-drawn hayrides in the fall! Of course, we get our pumpkins here every year.
This is mama and her two girls. It's just the three of us quite a bit of the time at home. Nick goes to school in the morning and works 40 hours still in the evenings so we don't see him a whole lot during the week.
Emberlea is a good little mama to her dolls. Her new baby sister is just another plaything in her mind, so Alannah is subjected to Emberlea's "mothering" at times. In this picture, Alannah is twins with Baby Belle, which means they have to sleep on the floor together!

Here are the tired parents in the early days of bringing home the baby. She sleeps through most ofthe night. Even though we try to get her on her way to bed around 8 o'clock, it usually doesn't "take" on the first attempt. I feed her, change her diaper, and then lay her in the bassinet next to our bed. Stealthily, I sneak out of the room congratulating myself on how easily she went down. BUT---pretty soon, usually sooner than later, a small huffing and snorting begins on the baby monitor, and before you know it, I find myself in the earshot of a full-fledged fuss! And so the process begins all over again...

Emberlea really likes going to the park. She has so much energy and benefits from being able to run and play without restrictions. Don't we all wish we could still have that kind of energy? I know I do. These days, the idea of actually playing at the park makes me tired just thinking about it! It sure is fun to watch Ember though. If there are any other little girls at the park, she will just run up to them, observe what they are doing for a minute, and then join them. In a few minutes they are giggling together and following eachother around the playground as if they had been friends for years. It's the easiest thing in the world for kids at this age to make friends. Why do adults sometimes make it so complicated?

Emberlea loved being a Tinkerbelle "Princess" this year for Halloween.

History...continued: Part 3

September 30th, 2007 was when we got to meet Alannah Jade Orr. She is becoming a familiar face for us. Her big sister Emberlea helps take care of her and does a really good job of it! . She's a pretty mellow baby and we grow to love her more every day.

History...continued: Part 2

March 31st, 2006 brought us Ethan Nicholas Orr. He was born at 31 weeks gestation with a genetic condition called Trisomy 13. We got to spend a brief 2 hours with him before he was received into Heaven. He is an important part of our family and we will always miss him.

History...continued: Part 1

May 22nd, 2004 our life changed forever with Emberlea Jasmine Orr coming into our lives. She has been our joyful little girl for these past three years and we love her with all our heart!

A brief history...

We got married in 2003 - twice in fact. Our first wedding, small and yet so significant, was June 14th. Our second wedding (or the celebration commemorating our first wedding), the larger one with more cake, was August 23rd. This picture is from that day, the one that most people remember. We had it out at the Log Cabin Inn in McKenzie Bridge, OR which has subsequently burned to the ground just this past year. Imagine that! I wonder what that says about what our life will be like...

New Blog Site!!!

Well, we finally got it together and put ourselves on the web. Yay, our first posting! Now all our family and friends who always wanted to see our pictures have a convenient way to view them. So that means we have to actually post things here, right? I hope we can be better at posting than we were at emailing! Ha-ha! Oh well, it should be fun. We'll see how it goes...
